Saints suffered their second cup final of the season at St Mary's Park at the hands of Stranraer once again.

Saints passed up some excellent opportunities in the first half but failed to make the most of them.

It only took 7 minutes into the second half for Stranraer to score when Stranraer striker Chris Doyle jumped highest to head in the opener. Saints pushed for an equaliser but Stranraer keeper Lightbody made a string of excellent saves. As Saints pushed forward Stranraer caught them on the break Jamie Clarke was judged to have deliberately handled the ball in the Saints box and the referee awarded the penalty. As Clarke recieved his marching orders for his second booking Mickey Wilson stepped up to seal the win with a fine penalty in the final minute of the game.
